University Players is the production arm of the School of Dramatic Art, University of Windsor, producing six professional-caliber plays annually. It is a training ground for young theatre artists as young actors, designers, teachers, directors, technicians, and stage managers as they prepare to embark on careers in theatre. University Players is where our community gets to see future stars begin to shine.
Meet the Company
Makayla is thrilled to be performing on the UP stage for her fourth year of the BFA program. Born and raised in London Ontario Makayla has been acting from a young age and is excited to be a part of 365 Plays/ 365 Days and to take up the role of Sir. Toby Belch in Twelfth Night. She would like to thank her friends and family for all the love and encouragement over the years.
I'm Matthew Benton (they/he) and I'm happy to join UP this season! Twelfth Night will be my first show with UP. I want to thank my dad for helping me get to school in Canada!
Chloe is in her 3rd year of Drama/ Con. Ed. and is charmed to be cast in Twelfth Night in her 2nd UP season and is so grateful for the opportunity to play pretend. "I'd like to send an immense amount of appreciation and thanks to my marvelous support system. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without you all, and I wouldn't be able to do all of this without your love."
Colin is a 4th year BFA student from Burlington and is excited to return to Windsor for the UP season. He is playing Gordon in Dead Man’s Cellphone and Fabian in Twelfth Night. Colin would like to thank both his mom for always supporting him in his pursuit of acting and his former drama teacher, Ms. Macdonald for inspiring him to pursue becoming an actor.
Katherine Docherty is a 4th Year BFA acting student from West Lorne, Ontario. This season she is excited to be playing Wendy (Tinkerbell) Lead (365 Plays) and the Sea Captain (Twelfth Night). She would like to send lots of love to her Mum, Dad, Ian and Agnes. Along with a big thank you to Lee Wilson and Meghan Quinn for their guidance and support.
Dominika Dudzik is a 2nd year student and is excited to work with the ensemble in Tinker Bell. Etobicoke School of the Arts: Drama & Musical Theatre Double Major. Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts: The Addams Family Musical (Morticia), The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Helena Landless). Huge thank you to Ewa Dudzik, her biggest supporter and number one fan!
Natasha is in her third year of the BFA in Acting program and is thrilled to be making her directorial debut as the Assistant Director for Dead Man's Cell Phone. She will also be playing Tootles in Tinker Bell and may be recognized from last season's If We Were Birds. Natasha would like to thank her family and friends for always cheering her on!
Abigaile is so excited to be part of the new season back on the Essex stage. She has had the opportunity to act in Sweet Science of Bruising as Dr. Bell and stage managed If We Were Birds last season. Catch her next as the stage manager of 365 Days and acting as Malvolio in Twelfth Night. Thank you to her friends and family for their endless support!
Lauren Jenkins is thrilled to experience another season with the University Players team in her final year of the BFA Acting program. Coming from Brampton, Jeremiah McEachrane is thrilled to join the University Player’s 64th season! Favourite roles include Brown Cesario in Camp Rock The Musical and Horton the Elephant in Seussical Jr. Capture his next performance in Dead Man’s Cell Phone at the Essex Hall Theatre. Thanks to my mom for her constant support.
Jack Meadows is an actor from London Ontario and is in his third year of the BFA in Acting program. He adores Shakespeare and is playing an ensemble role in 365 Plays/365 Days. He loves his mom more.
Justin Mendler is excited for his chance to play the roles of Hook in Tinker Bell, Ensemble in 365 Days/365 Plays, and Olivia in Twelfth Night in this year's season after playing Paul Stokes in The Sweet Science of Bruising last year. Thanks to his family who has encouraged him to pursue an art that he enjoys, as well as his classmates and professors who have helped him hone his craft over the last three years.
Annie is happy to collaborate with University Players on this wonderful season. Annie is a Queer theatre artist from Toronto currently in their 4th year of the BFA in Acting program. Ruby Romero is excited to be involved in her second season with University Players! Ruby is in her 4th year at the University of Windsor, studying BFA Acting. Originally from Windsor, Ruby has been singing, dancing and performing on stage since the age of 3. This season: 365 Days/365 plays and Twelfth Night. Ruby would like to thank her family and friends for all the love and support.
Mara Rumley is excited to join this UP season! A 4th year BA student from Hamilton, Ontario. Favourite experience: being a part of the creation and performance of HCA's 'Connections' performed for the Hamilton Fringe Festival in 2019. Mara will be part of the cast of Tinker Bell this UP Season. She wants to give a Thank you to all her friends and family for always supporting her dreams.
Shayne Simpson is thrilled to join UP in the cast of Twelfth Night. He is a 4th year Con. Ed./Drama student. Shayne has been on stage his whole life, spending two seasons with the Stratford festival, and two seasons with Drayton Entertainment, along with various community Theatres. Shayne would like to thank his family for all the support over the years and hopes everyone loves the show!
Georgie Savoie is happy to return to the UP stage for this season as Tinker Bell in Tinker Bell as well as Feste in Twelfth Night. You may have seen her on the UP stage before in last year’s production of If We We’re Birds as The Young One.
